Getting Lost in the Forest

Post by Amy Pond on 11/29/2013, 7:44 pm

Claire drew her sword.

Today had been perfectly awful, with that sparring practice with cabin 4. The Demeter kids were pathetic, honestly. All they did was cry or just ignored her. Where was the fun in that?

On top of that, she was plagued by that stupid cut on her knee, which had started bleeding again. Claire hated ambrosia, because she was a little scared of it. She had refused to take any, and that was resulting in her knee hurting like crazy.

Now there provably was a monster approaching, and all she had was her awful sword. It wasn't even as if she could fight properly with it. Claire was a dagger girl. Right now, she was shooting daggers with her eyes at some trees that were in her way. She was lost.

Kaden wandered into the forest, looking to have a peaceful day - which never happened.

He saw the girl in trouble - he could tell because her knee was bleeding. He instinctively ran straight for her. "Are you - " Then came the clumsiness; he fell down, chest-first in a log. He let out a wheez, before drawing a dagger out of his backpack and getting up.

"Are you alright?" Kaden managed. He felt like a stupid-hero. Good guys never survive, he once heard in an odd dream where he was fighting an elephant. Demigod dreams were weird, but always meant something.

Now, Kaden was quite scared of elephants.

"Do you need some ambrosia?" he asked, back to reality. Kaden took his dagger, just in case she was....well, psycho. Kaden came closer to her, until they were only about four feet apart.

As it turned out, the rustling had been some strange boy wandering around. Not a bloodthristy monster, although a bunch of humans Claire knew fit in that category.

At any rate, the boy seemed to just be some clumsy kid, who was playing hero. That usually didn't happen with Claire being the rescuee, since mostly the people were rescued from her. Now he was acting as if her bloody knee was some big deal, which it wasn't to Claire. She was tougher than most.

"No." She replied icily, noticing that he still had his dagger drawn. Maybe people were learning that she qualified as reaasonably psycho. At any rate, those Aphrodite girls had quit trying to "socialize" with her. She breifly wondered what would happen if she just walked off, coming to the unhappy conclusion that she'd get even more lost then collapse from her knee.

Kaden nodded, then stood still for a moment, studying the girl. She was pretty, but she seemed icy, like a Khione kid. See what he did there? He coughed a bit more, before starting to walk away, backwards. "Alright...I'm going away...I won't be - " He tripped over the log again.

"OWWWW, MY BUTT!" is what he wanted to scream. Instead, though, he quickly got up and said, "that was all a part of the plan!" Kaden went to run off, then heard an odd noise that sounded like a snore and whimper mixed. He jumped a bit, raising his dagger and charging in the direction of the sound.

A little baby bear was hurt. Kaden felt bad for it. He went over to it, but casually. He knew the mother had to be around - and standing over it's injured cub with a dagger didn't look good.

Claire was a tiny bit intrigued by this kid, and followed him at a distance. She couldn't really say why she was interested; prehaps it was the running away that was weird. Well, people ran away from her. Normally, they were afraid though, and seemed quite the opposite of that. Nervous, yes. But afraid, no.

It might have been the excited jumping towards the monster-like noise, though. From what Claire had noticed, only kids with serious anger issues or stupid bravery charged monsters, and he seemed... normal. Claire was following strictly out of academic purposes.

Since her knee was killing her, Claire was moving with strange limping gait. It took her a while to make it down to the whimpering creature and the boy, but she made it.

The kid was standing by a bear cub, who's mother was out of sight. The idiot, didn't he know that mother bears were insanely protective of their young? He was just asking to be mauled. She thought, clinging to the nearest tree for support.

Kaden quickly got around from the cub before something seriously dangerous happened, like his mother attacking..or her's, whatever. He went over to the girl and said, "the mother is near, but not as near as we think. It probably would've attacked by now. Most likely a monster or something came, injured the cub, then it's mother came and got killed. Don't ask how I know that."

He took his dagger and stabbed it into a tree, making a heart. Kaden put in the middle KFC, but it looked like K+C. "Haha, I've always wanted to do that. Anyway, I'm Kaden, son of Hypnos." He held out his hand to shake, giving her a warm smile. He tried to resist the feeling, but he couldn't; he found this girl extremely attractive.

Kaden looked like an idiot, just staring at her face. He was in a trance, in a way.

"You..you have pretty eyes." While this was happening, a few whistles came.

"Woo, dawgie, look at the sweet couple," a demigod, about their age, said. He held up his bow and arrows, shooting directly at Kaden's face. "Bye, bye."

Kaden was not dodging, and an arrow was coming straight towards him.

Ooc: Sorry this.is soo late!

Bic:
Claire rolled her eyes and remained utterly silent. This kid was luckier than most, since the bear's mother had not come amd attacked him. He seemed like one of those normal people who indulged in small talk and constantly stated the obvious. He was lucky that she was in a good mood.

Now he was stabbing a tree, which seemed ultimately pointless to her. She couldn't see what he was carving from this place, which was going to annoy her later.

Then he began talking again, claiming that he was Kaden, son of Hypnos. Claire couldn't care less, although she had rather glad that he wasn't heer half sibling. She did not shake his hand, partly because it was a stupid custom and partly because she had no desire to let go of the tree.

"Claire, daughter of Athena." She said, emphasizing the "Athena" bit. She was merely pointing out that she was reasonably superior to him, and possibly more intelligent. The latter was proved when he, decided to talk again.

"Pretty eyes?" She said in a tone that could be considered outraged, though there was a bit of pride. She had not a chance to retort whhen there was whistles, the kind that those idiot sons of Aphrodite used. The words that follwed did nothing to her fury. It was lucky for that camper that Claire couldn't run properly at the moment.

Kaden was still in a trance, which bothered her more still. "Snap out of it!" She yelled, giving him a tremendous shove. She, much to her hurt pride, ended up falling.
