PostSubject: Dinnering at Dinner.   4/1/2016, 9:20 pm

Salem Bishop walked into the mess hall with her stomach internally growling. She had skipped lunch just to practice more of her magic and was starting to regret it as the seconds continued on. The daughter of Hecate was wearing an orange Camp Half-Blood, black ripped jeans, and black combat boots. Her hair was pushed passed her shoulders to show off her twin torch pendant. After going to the front to grab a cheeseburger, fries, and a goblet, Salem headed to a table away from the crowd; she didn't care for crowds too much.

When you don't know how to start...

Turns out that also in the mess hall was Ryan Michaels, sitting at one of the tables with a half eaten burger on his plate and a goblet full of water (OOC: simple pleasures) to his right. He was sitting at the normally designated Ares table, but didn't really look like he was too pleased to be there.

Sitting at the Aphrodite table, Darcy twisted her dyed black hair around her fingers, silent. She sighed as she watched the taller, tanned and popular girls whisper and giggle.
She sat alone at the end of the table, knowing full well the girls were gossiping about her.
Darcy left her food untouched and she plugged in her headphones to her phone, and began listening to 'The End.' by MCR.

She looked over the tables as she bit into the cheeseburger. Salem was suppose to be sitting with the other Hecate children; Andy, Morgan, Lou Ellen, but she didn't feel like conversing with them right now. She'll be able to do that later on when it was time to sleep. Her eyes fell on-- oh, look, it's Ryan. A crooked grin came across her face and the demigoddess summoned a very low fireball and tossed it at him. When, or if, it hit, the fireball would feel like a light bulb that's been on for a couple of hours.

Darcy watched the room, sighing. She glared at the table, annoyed. She did not like her mother. Not one bit. She didn't want a mother who was crazy about love, beauty and makeup.

The fireball made contact with Ryan's sweatshirt-covered shoulder, taking away some of the heat from the impact, but not enough to keep him from holding said shoulder in (albeit minor) pain and letting out an "Agh!"

He looked around the mess hall, trying to find who or what might've caused the pain in his shoulder.

Darcy stared at the Hecate girl in horror. Who could do such a thing? Darcy wished she had the courage to stand up for the Ares boy.

Salem laughed at this and stood up from her seat to go over and speak to Ryan. "You looked bored so I thought you might've needed something to lighten things up." Her crooked smile turned into a smirk.

Darcy watched, a little worried. She took out one of her earbuds, listening in.

As soon as Salem spoke her stinging pun, Ryan looked up and shook his head. "Oh Salem," the Ares kid said with a sigh, "Only you would view my boredom as an opportunity to hit me."

He moved his head back down and looked at Salem, a humored expression on his face. "So, what's up?"

The daughter of Hecate raised an eyebrow. "I didn't hit you. I just threw a fireball at my favorite boar-headed son of Ares."

Salem looked around at the table nine munchers before shrugging her shoulders. "Eating over there."She jerked her head back to her empty table. "Wanna join me or what?"

"Then you used me as target practice, which has disgraced my family's honor." A smirk appeared on Ryan's face.

Looking down at his table, Ryan took note of all the people who, despite being bred for war, would be dishonorably discharged from any reputable military due to their arbitrary behavior and made his decision.

"Sure. I've got nothing to do around these guys anyway."

Salem rolled her eyes, pushing him playfully. "Your family's honor? Really? I'm sure it'll regenerate at some point." She pushed a few strains of loose hair behind her ear.

She led him over to where she was sitting, sliding into her bench seat while snatching up a fry from her plate and eating it. "How was your day? Bully any weaker demigods today? I know I did."

Ryan took a seat across from Salem. "No, not really. Although that depends on if you consider ritualistic hazing bullying."

Salem nodded her head. "I guess that counts in a since." She decided pull her hair back into a ponytail before saying, "So, you have any plans tonight or what?"

Salem shook her head. "Nope, no plans whatsoever. Usually I do with either studying magic or just hanging out around camp, but not tonight."

"Then in that case, no. No plans." Salem just shrugged her shoulders.

"So..." replied Ryan, tapping a finger on the table, "How long have you been here at camp?"

"About...five years? Yeah. It doesn't feel like it, but it's been half a decade. What about you Brute? How long have been here?" Salem gave him a once over before eating another fry.

"Me? I'd say about six, seven months or so;" Ryan stopped tapping on the table and awkwardly put the once active hand to his side, then interlocking both of his hands on the table. "To be honest, I stopped counting the days after the second weeks and ceased counting the weeks after the first month."

Salem slowly nodded her head, glancing around the room. "That's cool, I guess. Hey, do you wanna just get out of her because this is getting boring. Not that you're boring or anything, just, yeah." She stood up from the table to put a portion in the food into the hearth, whispering her mother's name before going to put the rest in the trash. "What about swimming? Meet you at the lake or what?"

Ryan turned around to keep Salem in his sights. "You know what, I'm not that big into swimming, and don't feel like taking a dip in the fishes toilet bowl either, if you get what I mean."
