I walk in with Darcy, the allure of the mysterious lake in the night light drawing me in. I sigh, not really knowing what compels me to come back here, but I push the thought aside, settling for the peaceful silence that the surroundings give me. I walk to the edge of the lake and look into it's dark depths, just focusing on it, trying to grasp something probably uncomprehensible to me right now.

I follow him, sighing. The outdoors always relaxed me to the point I thought it was sometimes all a dream. It helped me especially back home when drama constantly pummelled my life into a lifeless pulp. Nature and that special someone was what I held on most of the time when I felt like giving up. Something about the sound of birds chirping and bugs buzzing around kept me cool. The smell of the coniferous trees and the falling leaves brushing my cheeks always made me smile. I sigh again, just taking in my surroundings.

I saunter in, noticing a pair of familiar faces and sneaking up behind them. They have yet to notice their 6'8" tall friend towering over them. With a deep voiced breath, I shout, "BOO!" They flinch and turn around in initial shock. I laugh hysterically until their faces change into scowls. "What? Can't take a joke?"

I ignore the joke and point to DJ. "Fin, you remember Darce right?"

"Hey Sharky, haven't seen you in forever." I say, trying to seem friendly, though I'm still peeved about him disrupting the peaceful aura. "Did your 'fro grow?"

"Nice to see you again, too, Darcy. And yep, everyone always notices that first." I chuckle. "So what have you two been up to?" I tease.

"I've just been showing DJ around, so she gets used to camp." I say and shoot a glare saying 'shut it' at him.

We continue our conversation together, ignoring our surroundings.

I continue talking to Darce and Fin. "So what have you been up to Fin? Talked to anyone knew here yet?"

I shake my head. "Not really. There's supposed to be some kind of weird epidemic going around. An infection, I heard. I don't know much of the details, but it's contaigious I think."

"Mhm, well I guess we should stay away from other people then. Though it's kinda hard with so many people here even in a big camp like this." I think aloud. "Come to think of it, I've seen some people coughing randomly earlier. I didn't mind it that much though."

"Yeah." I nod in agreement. "And like no one's at the Norse cabin. But that's probably due to the lack of Norse in camp anyways." I babble on, not really staying on any one topic for long.

I just stand there, looking at each of them and towards the trees as they have their conversation. I start to wonder what the sickness was exactly. Later on, I tune them out and just sit closer to the lake, fiddling with my necklace.

I smile and kiss the top of her head
