"Death, indeed, has sneaky and somewhat cowardly ways of taking people. And thus, perhaps you can infer that I am also a coward, taking souls using sly tactics. But that is to be expected, for not everybody can be a hero." Thanatos chuckled, holding Stross's soul. He held up his free hand with the iPhone, pointing the camera at Eric, and in a flash wiped away anything Stross might have left inside of Eric's mind-- for example, Stross's strength, but Eric would retain memories. "You were afraid, Eric? Everybody has a fear.... But now you must go about your fears on your own, for Stross will be here no longer to fight for you."

"Stross... i'm sorry"I said dropping to my knees."

Stross would have cried if he weren't a spirit "i'll miss you kid."

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, does it not, David Ambrose? But you shouldn't be scared of death, especially for others.... After all, you are immortal, are you not? You will see much death in your time." Thanatos chuckled again, lowering his iPhone. "I'm getting the feeling that you're saying Eric was dependent upon Stross.... But no matter. Death finds all and knows no mercy. Eric will soon find his way to me and perhaps he will remember Stross.... if he does not end up in Asphodel."

With that, Thanatos sank into the ground, taking Stross with him.

I walked in. I didn't really know what I could do here, but oh well.

"Then let your angry overtake you then do something irrational and get yourself killed" I said.
