"Wait, Kat." Reid said before she started to quickly walk off. "...I need to ask you a question. Just before you leave. Then you can leave this awkward situation." He couldn't help but crack a small smile.

Kat looked over her shoulder. "What?" She nearly snapped at him, but caught herself.

Reid tilted his head a bit, staring at her with disbelief. "Did you get the money and satisfaction?" He asked her.

"Yeah. And anyways she nearly killed my friend when I came in," Kat replied angrily.

"Okay, so she was a killer..." Reid started, his voice becoming frustrated. "That makes you want to kill her. Who's the killer now, huh?"

"Reid, I don't care." Kat retorted, feeling tears gather at the edge of her eyess. Of course, he would turn against her. That's one of her many reasons why she didn't bother getting close to others. It brings heartbreak. And heartbreak is one of the things that waste your time.

Oh God. Tears. Reid thought. He hated seeing people cry. It made him feel like he was the enemy and that he needed to do something. "..I know you don't. I just want to know.." He said, taking a step closer to her. "I know you aren't like that Kat. I really know."

Kat blinked, letting a tear cascade down her cheek. "Don't talk to me. Ever." She coldly said.

Reid was about to protest, but kept his mouth shut. He wanted to say so many things. Things like: 'I'm sorry, but I just really care.' and 'You're the only person that I can actually talk to without becoming some awkward guy that jocks make fun of at school.' But he just did what he did best, and that was to keep quiet and let life just slide through his fingers. He backed off silently.

Kat, growing more furious, continued, of course. "The reason I hate all people..are people like you. You get close to someone, and they break off the friendship suddenly with you. You can never trust anyone, excpet yourself. And heartbreak is the worst, the absolute worst, because you dwell on the past, wasting time. And I don't mind being a killer, because I'm a ice queen," She used the same insult most had called her. Ice queen.

Reid wanted to say that he didn't mean to 'break' the friendship. He just wanted to simply know why she killed that girl because he knew that she wasn't really like this. It felt like they just met all over again. He could feel her coldness and hatred toward him. He just stared at her with concern.

Reid let her go and just sat in the chair where his bag was on the table. He had his head in his hands as he started to think.

Kat looked back once, and then left, not letting herself have any other tears escape.
