I've noticed a lot of bookstores are closing down... why is that?

I thought maybe because everyone was getting Kindles, Nooks and other reading electronic things but I'm not sure.

Anyone know?

Any specific ones?

Borders went bankrupt... I'm not so sure about a lot of the others. I do think it is partially because of e-readers now, though.

The Barnes and Noble near me closed down. I've seen a lot of those shutting down.

Barnes and Noble isn't safe now, either? o.o

Did a lot of people visit it? If not, that could be why it shut down.

It was in the mall so a ton of people visited. It's really wierd!

According to some sources on Google, Barnes and Noble put itself up for sale. I don't know why yet, though....

But it could be because the space it rented out in the mall had its rent rise or something.

A borders near me closed down too. It's probably because e-books, the internet and all that stuff, that people just don't read as much nowadays.

When we lose books, magazines, etc and end up using technology to read, the world will end up like it did in the book Fahrenheit 451.

Didn't ALL the Borders' shut down? None of the book stores around my area have shut down, in fact, it seems like there's more than there use to be.

Oh noes! Book stores can't shut down! That's just depressing! Where am I supposed to work?

I refuse to convert to e-format. If there are no physical publishers in the future, I will PRINT MY OWN BOOKS. And I'll have my own publishing company, so you can print your books, too. C:

There's a Books-a-Million near me and it hasn't shut down. Also there's a Barnes and Noble that hasn't shut down either and its kind of out of the way. I don't like those e-readers at all though, paper was good enough for the Eqypitians, Romans, and Greeks, so its more than good enough for me.
