| I turned to Kataro and rushed him in a bear hug. "I thought you were dead! The cyclops could have killed you!" My words muffled in his shirt. Then I stepped back, angry. "YOU WENT AFTER ALL THAT!!! I TOLD YOU NOT TOO! WHAT IF YOU HAD DIED?! AND WHERE-WHERE'S ALICE?! IS SHE OKAY?!" I said quickly, pacing in front of him.

| I looked at the hideous cyclops eye, then at my arm, and the mark. Practically identical. I felt sick. I heard Kataro's words and forced a smile, despite the sickness I was feeling. "I never blamed you, Kataro. You saved my life." I looked away. "I can never repay you. But you didn't have to do that." I swallowed. "You could be dead." |
