He missed her while he was at camp. Once a monster attacked their house he decided it would be safer if he left for camp.
RP Example*: I jogged up the hill, feeling incredibly stupid. Were all half bloods scared of monsters? Maybe it was just me. I wiped some sweat off my forehead then looked down at the camp. It was... not as crazy as Rose made it sound. I walked, hesitantly, down the hill and into camp. Hopefully I would be able to find Rose.
