Life Before CHB*: She lived with her dad in London, until an angry centaur bashed in their door and started attacking them. Her dad finally pulled out her sword from the closet. It had a sheath, and when she twisted the hilt of the sword, it turned invisible so mortals couldn't freak out. She caused a distraction (root beer) and her dad and her escaped. Her dad stayed in London, and sent Alice to Camp Half-Blood in the USA.
RP Example*: Alice kept running until she reached that huge pine tree she had seen in the distance. She clutched at her throat, trying to breathe. She staggered down the hill, tumbling most of the way, until she caught sight of the camp. There was a strawberry field, which looked safe. She glanced over her shoulder to see if the sphinx was still following her. It wasn't, but she made her way to the strawberry field anyway. As soon as she reached it, she collapsed, exhausted.

The police that found Alexandra (dead) all went mad, saying they had seen a dragon with five heads. Alonzo was devastated, but Victoria sent Alonzo to Camp Half-Blood with a wind spirit (and Alonzo's pet snake).
RP Example*: Alonzo plunked down on the steps of the house with light blue paint. He panted and hugged Chicote to him. He was tired and sleepy and he wanted to go home. He missed his sister and his mama and all his cheerful friends. But he had to be safe, said his mom. Alonzo stared into Chicote's intelligent eyes and took a deep breath, wiping away the tears that had been slowly falling from his eyes. He laughed loudly, trying to dispel his gloomy mood. Life Before CHB*: She lived with her father, a comedian, and they lived in poverty because he refused to change "professions." She was the one working all night at a McDonalds, the one spending weekends babysitting her friends' little siblings. She never gave up though, not even when she was attacked by a gang and came back with a bloody nose, fractured tailbone, and black eye. Then her father married a woman named Christie, and she was kind to Lindy. Christie convinced Johnny to actually work. Then came the gorgon, and ruined everything that had seemed to be going perfectly. Christie's grandfather had been a demigod, so Lindy was sent to Camp Half-Blood.
RP Example*: Lindy sauntered up to the boy leaning against the STOP sign.
"Excuse me," Lindy began quietly, "Could you tell me how to get to the camp near the Sound?" The boy started, and glared down at her. Lindy repeated her question. Lindy asked her question again, very slowly, only to have him advance with the knife. Lindy rolled her eyes and twisted her mirror. She put the sword next to his neck, drawing just one drop of blood.

Life Before CHB*: Hanson lived with his mom Adele and his two adopted siblings with speech problems, Debbie and David. Everything went well, until Debbie and David brought over three friends, Deysi, Dorothy, and Devon. They merged together and made a Hydra. Adele tried to protect Hanson, but Hanson (only being three at the time) wanted to play with the dragon. Adele, having received training from Apollo-- who knew this would happen eventually-- defeated the Hydra, but got nasty burns. She sent Hanson to a pen pal in America. He was treated kindly, and upon reaching 15 was sent to Camp Half-Blood.
RP Example*: Hanson wasn't bothered by the sun beating down on him. He swung his bow carelessly, not really caring what mortals saw through the Mist. His mom had told him all about his being a demigod and whatnot. He whistled and Bee, his golden falcon, dived down and settled on his shoulder. He felt like one of those classic pirates. He laughed as he boarded the bus to the Long Island Sound. He flipped a coin to the driver and plunked down on a seat, smiling at the little boy across from him, who was staring at Bee. The little boy looked at him, and Hanson winked.

Life Before CHB*: He lived with his aunt, because his mom died at childbirth. The house was peaceful, but there was always an empty space in Tanner's heart. Then his aunt died in a car crash, and he was sent to an orphanage. He was 12 at the time, and Tanner started growing wings. The orphanage tried desperately to get rid of him, and they convinced a family in America to take him in. They were only foster parents though, and were repulsed by his wings. He ran away and met a demigod friend who told him how to get to Camp Half-Blood. His friend died near the Big Hill though, and Tanner was forced to go on without him.
RP Example*: Tanner quickly wiped off the tears that were streaming from his eyes. He kissed Jo's forehead, though, and stood up with an even heavier heart than he had started with. He felt like a baby, he was sobbing his head off. He trudged up the hill anyway, all the while praying to his father to make sure Jo "got through" safely. If safe was even an option. He was wheezing by the time he got to the pine tree at the top and slid down the rest of the way. The view was beautiful, and even though his best friend had just died, he felt a lightness on his shoulders, as if his father was telling him not to worry. Tanner smiled sadly and thought, Never will I not worry.
