| Okay, so lots of people like me have no lives and like to spend it on the internet, right~? How would you feel if the Government took away lots of sites, like Tumblr or Youtube or Deviant Art, due to some copyright law that might get passed by the end of the year? Pretty ticked off, right? I mean, that means we'll all have to find something ELSE to do, or worse, go out in the world and get lives. SO! If you want to save the internet, go here;
http://www.change.org/petitions/stop-the-internet-control-bill-now
and SIGN it. Sign it with every email you got. We need 100,00 signatures! ________________ Crystal|Nemesis17Jaden|Triton18Katara|Triton18 Keiara|Triton18Melody|Charites15Caitlin|Apollo15

| I actually think the act would be good.
It would enforce people to actually ask permission from a person to use their music, video, etc. If youtube went down, many music and video markets would go down, yes. But Tumblr and stuff like that and facebook, they're just making people go outside less, talk on the phone less, and making other technology like phones useless at home. Yes, people think that this is in direct violation of the right of the press, but in actuality this should already be in play. Large websites like YouTube would have to hire more people to check videos about songs not being sited, effectively making more jobs available to the public.
Example:
Hmm... Should I make my own music or just take *band*'s song?
*SONG TAKE*

The government isn't, that's a big misconception. The corporations are, like music industries.

No, it's not saying "I'm taking this out" This is saying "If these people don't start siting their sources then well that's their fault."

47 million, maybe, but in taxes that's not a lot, that's less than a dollar per person. And yes, the big peoples could shut down places like youtube, facebook, etc. But this would only happen if they have plagiarized material on that site. This would force google(youtube) to pay more people and give more JOBS to people therefore getting america further out of the rut. After that, the government would be like, "Hey, we don't have to give this much" and cut that down to like a penny a person, and raise it only if the amount of accusations increase. |

WOAH THERE MR. INFORMATION. lololol. Funny how you replied to all of our replies. I didn't even have a question, more like a rhetorical question. Btw, "siting" is actually "citing." Hence "Works cited."
btw gifs will never be destroyed, because its not like they are gonna get photoshop shut down and a millllionnnn people have gifs in their folders on their computer, and the government can't take away that! ha! btw, like the gifs in my siggy?
Anyway, about this whole SOPA thing. It sucks, I know. I'm kinda doubting it would happen though, after seeing all these petitions But if it does, It was nice role playing with all of you. *salute*

| Lots of arguing, mumble mumble. Also, to all people who like this bill, even if it DOES pass, there will be websites that get taken down. MAYBE Youtube, MAYBE Facebook, MAYBE even this site. I'm sure that if this site does pass, some of you who think this bill is good will maybe not like if it actually DOES pass, and then what will you do? ________________ John Trester/Son of Apollo/14/Legs Disabled/Lazy Song by Bruno Mars David Seletan/Son of Hermes/15/British Accent/You're Gonna Go Far, Kid by The Offspring Lauren Fengura/Daughter of Athena/15/ The Middle by Jimmy Eat WorldCarth Thert/Son of Geb/17/Egyptian Accent/Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes Josh Haht/Son of Hypnos/16Character Pictures| Spoiler: | | | |

| They really can't pass this, people realize, don't you? I mean, if they pass it they'll be shutting down sites for the entire WORLD. We don't have the power to do that, so if it gets passed, we've fu**ed ourselves over because the internet is world wide, it's not just in the U.S. That means that if something is taken off the internet, it's taken off the world. It's not a 'if you start citing' thing, either, from what I've read. It's a "so and so says that you're breaking copyright, BYEBYE SITE!" type thing. Meaning facebook, youtube, tumblr, all forums almost, anything. Most music sites except for itunes. I bet even some sites for schools will be shut down, because god knows I've been on a lot of them for school work, at school, instructed by the teachers that have taken things without citing them. We're sort of screwed if the bill gets passed. |
