I felt for him. He had given up his own freedom for the girl he loved and her lover. I studied Jake. His eyes were deep and thoughtful. His hands strong but smooth ( in appearance). I liked him.

I puffed out the air in my cheeks and scooted closer. But only slightly. I decided a back story of my own could help loosen him up. "My dad...I frowned. He...did some...stuff." I knew I was being vague, but I wasn't sure I could trust Jake just yet.

I looked at him quizzicaly. "Who is your mum?" I asked, then blushed, as I had said "mum". "Mom" I tried to correct myself, but it just sounded strange.
