Life Before CHB*: Kate was raised in a small town in Wisconsin with her mother, Aria Brigade. In kindergarten, Aria noticed Kate would sing to herself, and often invent twinkling little melodies. She was signed up for a piano class, and breezed through easily with strange musical ability. As she grew older, Kate was interested in the arts, such as practicing acting and singing and dancing. She acted in the school play, but felt it was not fun and decided to write music for a band she and an old friend started. The band was more for fun, didn't succeed, so Kate gave up and locked herself in her room with her piano. She was a friendly soul with a big heart, but just didn't seem to know her place until now.
RP Example*: Kate's fingers pound against the ivory keys of her piano, and music fills her room. She knows everybody can hear it; even if they're across the street or down the road, she just knows. And Kate smiles. She wants people to know there's something more to her than the girl that sits in class and writes poetry. "Kate?" the door opens. "Kate, please come downstairs. We need to talk."
