I walk in and sit on the bed

I knocked hesitantly on the door frame. "Can I come in?"

I looked around the room as I stepped in. I walked over to the bed and sat gently on the edge. "I just...thought you should know..." I said.

I move closer to her "What is it?"

I furrowed my eyebrows. "It's...about my family" I muttered, not sure how to start.

I sighed. "My dad...he was part of the Queen's protection detail." I started. "Well, one day my dad, me, and my older sister were walking into London. Just for a day together. Near the road, we saw the same man who had been selling the same scones for the past...forever, basically. We always bought from him, so, as usual, I went up to buy a blueberyy snone. Well...I handed him the money, but instead of giving me the scone, he turned into this...gorgon." I paused, remembering the image.

I stare at her "I'm sorry how old were you?"

I looked up. "thirteen." I said.

I look strait into her soft brown eyes

I stared into his eyes a moment, then continued my story. "Well, I don't remember much, but it came at me screaming "demigod" and knocked me to the ground. I hit my head pretty hard. Suddenly my dad was there, with a sword. I couldn't believe it. Mind you, I didn't know about this god-thing at the time. Anyway, He started swinging at it, and then my sister(who is not a demigod) started screaming. Even through the mist it must have been weird. She came over to me, at the same time the gorgon got past my dad towards me. It knocked my sister into the road, and...she got hit."

I pull such a cheap move but I feel terrible for her. I put my arm around her "I'm so sorry, Bex"

I leaned in. It was nice to have somebody. I looked down. "It didn't kill her, but she broke her hip and cracked three ribs among other things. Well, the gorgon panicked and left in a hurry. There were people on the streets and through the mist, it still looked bad. To them it looked like my dad attacked the man, me, and threw my sister into the road. It took a while to clear up most of it, but people never trusted my father again. He lost his job, people gave him looks, and..." I sighed. "After my dad told me about the demigod thing, he had to tell my sister too. Not only was she scared by the concept of monsters and all that, but she called me a freak and said she never wanted to speak to me again."

I look at her with concern "Is there anything I can do?"

I shook my head slowly. "no. I wish there was, but no." I took in a deep breath and leaned against Jake.

I leaned into the hug and sighed. "Bex,penser avec votre cerveau, et non pas avec votre coeur." I chided myself, but I just kept holding on instead of pulling away.

I just shook my head as I leaned back and looked at him. "I speak French" I said.

I pull her closer her warmth comforted me. "What did you say?"

I bit my lip. "Well...I told myself to think with my brain before I thought with my heart." I said honestly, in a low voice.

I was taken away by the kiss, too shocked to do anything but lean in.
