Okay. So. A friend of mine is having serious confidence issues. She keeps asking if I think she's fat, If I think she looks ugly etc. I don't know if she's looking for pity or what, but I do know that she's really unhappy. So does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? I'm at my wit's end.

Just tell her she is not ugly ect., and make her feel happy. If anyone makes fun of her, you can stand up for her.

I keep trying that, she always thinks I'm lying (although I do stand up for her)

Tell her she isn't fat or ugly, and make sure she knows you're there for her. Tell her you'll be her friend and try to have some patience with her. Just be there to support her.

Keep reminding her that she isn't fat or ugly every time she says that. It'll make her feel better that she knows someone is there for her.

What I think you should do is tell her she can't be perfect. Point out one little flaw she has, and then tell her your's. Always remind her that she's beautiful in every way, even if she isn't perfect. And she shouldn't change herself just because society disapproves. Convince her to accept who she is and care less about what other people think.
