Re: Running from family

As I read the writting, I don't care to finish, because I know what it'll say, "You think he didn't...torture himself over this? He didn't sleep a day after he found out...And honestly, I still don't think he's completely ready to be with you. But he does love you. Very much." I glance out the window at Drew, who was sitting in the car, checking his watch and nervously tapping the wheel.

Harley sighed and looked at the table blankly, thinking. He really loved her, but he was her brother. Love or family? Such a hard choise

Harley smiled at the glitter, she liked it when her eyes glittered. Instinctively she leaned in for a better look

Re: Running from family

I say to Drew, "Look, I may use my assassin identity as a bluff, but I'm not really going to kill any demigods. You should know this. Look at my left hand." I hold it up and show that I am missing my ring finger on the left. I say about it, "That's what I had to do to become an assassin. To protect myself from the people looking for me and the monsters, I had to cut my own ring finger off! One time, I was found, and like Harley, I was nearly hanged. My assassin recruits came to rescue me just before the trigger was pulled, and I escaped. That's where I was an hour before I got here. I've had bad experiences of my own. But I won't take them out on you, possibly my only support now. I heard all my recruits were killed. It's my fault. I'm a terrible leader. I don't feel like a master assassin should. I feel more like my recruits should have let me die."

"So you're not gonna kill anyone?" I ask, "No. You're just going to scare young innocent girls who are already scared out of their wits. That's very gentleman-like of you." I say.

I smile, "Why?"

Re: Running from family

Post by Prophet on 3/28/2013, 6:22 pm

I say, "You don't know the meaning of true terror until you have to cut your own finger off. Not taken forcibly. You have to do it yourself. Forgive me if I scare them, but once you've had to cut your own finger off, you don't think of what I'm doing as terror. So forgive me if I seem rough and scary. I don't see it that way. The assassin way is painful, but effective in the long term. Honestly, I don't claim to be a gentleman. I am normally anything but gentle. I'll try my best with you three, but forgive me if it doesn't work. It just isn't my way." I suddenly realize that I have activated my recently acquired eagle sense, and I see where Harley and Sparky were, and hear that Harley had started talking. I say, "Harley, you can talk. I know it."

OOC: Eagle sense is a very rare Assassin skill. It's not a Kevin only thing. Only a few have it, all of them very experienced like Kevin. An example of eagle sense: Someone I'm chasing after sat down on a bench and got up. If I follow their trail, which shows thanks to eagle sense, if I scan the bench, I will see and her exactly what they did.

When he's gone, I tighten my grip on the wheel angrily. Like he knew half of what I went through.

"Congrats! You've graduated 1st grade!" I say with joy in my eyes.

I say, "My eagle sense is telling me things now...I'm starting to master being able to read thoughts with it. I know what you're thinking Drew. I wish I knew how to do this before...now I know the whole thing. I'm sorry I had to threaten you Harley. I'm sorry I assumed I'd been through worse Drew. Eagle sense solves everything! Wait, what was that you said Sparky? Eagle sense muffles words."

"You didn't HAVE to threaten anyone!" I say, getting a little bit angry, "And if my brother heard you saying that, I'd have to hold him back, so thank the gods that you came in here! Now leave Harley alone, she's been through enough!!" I sit back down, having no idea where that all came from...
