Re: The Lake

I heard a noise in the bushes, but I decided to ignore it. I heard Alexander mumble something and then he asked how old I was.

"I am 14, almost 15. May I ask the same question for you?'

"Fifteen and a half," Alexander said. He heard more rustling in the bushes, but decided to ignore it, too. "How long have you been here?"

"O-only a couple months, h-h-h-how long have you been here?"

I was guessing someone was in the bushes, an animal would have ran off by then.

"About the same as you... I think. I lost count of the days--like when you're on summer vacation, and you stop naming the days because you don't need to", Alexander said. In the back of his mind, he wondered whether he was rambling or not.

"Ah... I am going to be a y-year rounder. I have no family anymore."

Alexander had a weird look on his face, almost if he was questioning what he just said. I then grabed a walk, and threw it across the lake trying to get it to glide.

"Wanna try?"

I looked at Alexander.

"Oh", he said. "We--Emma and I, I mean--we're year-rounders, too. We ran away from our dar", he added at the end, a bit hesitantly. Then, he picked up a rock as well.

"Sure", he said, and tossed it across the calm surface of the water.

"Why would you run away? Your lucky you have a family. My step-dad killed my mother so... yeah.."

I then grabbed another rock and threw it, it skidded across the lake elegantly.

Amelia walked the edge of the lake with her daggers strapped to her belt and noticed two others skipping rocks, She picked a smooth flat one, like her step-mom showed her, and skipped across the lake. It bounced 4 times before it landed with a *PLOP* in the lake.

"Not really. Not if your family doesn't really care", Alexander responded--she seemed pretty open to him, so why not?--then blanched a bit at the mention of her stepdad murdering her mother. He didn't really know what to say, so he picked up another rock and just threw it. It skidded almost as far as Yuki's, but not quite.

Ooc: AuoraGirl, this is an RP between Lord Tubbingtin, Rosalie May, and I.

Bic: "Oh, well at least you have a father who isn't dead." I felt kinda bad for Alexander, his family not caring about him must suck. I then wondered if I could just call Alexander, Alex. I then saw Alex throw the rock nearly as far as I did.

"Your getting better young grasshopper. Also Alexander may I call you Alex?"

Alexander sighed. "Still doesn't care much, though", he said again, and rolled his eyes at the young grasshopper nickname. "Yeah sure."

"I guess that is equally as bad Alex." I picked up another rock and just threw it, waited for it to sink.

"Uh, well." Alexander didn't really want to share his lame hobbies, a first for him. "I like to... uh... read", he finally said; it wasn't a total lie. He did like reading, although he didn't do it a lot. "You?" He picked up a couple of rocks and tried to throw two at once.

"I sing, also I love reading. What books do you read? I have read a bunch of new books, but I enjoy old books." I sat down growing tired of throwing rocks.

"Anything except cheesy romance novels", Alexander said, frowning as his attempt to throw two rocks at a time failed badly. "And classics. I don't particularly like classics."

"Ah, yuck cheesey romance novels." I winced at that. "I like classics sometimes but normally regular is the best."

"John Green is a classic?" Alexander frowned. The only book he had read was The Fault In Our Stars, and that had been published only last year. "I thought classics were fifty years old or older. Unless you're not talking about classics..." He paused for a moment before going on. "I've only read The Fault In Our Stars, so he's not really my favourite, but the book was good. Kind of sad, but good all the same." He picked up one of the pebbles lying on the sand and debated whether or not to throw it at the water.
