Hitting the Woods for Some Lacrosse

Post by QTheRevolution on 9/3/2013, 9:47 pm

Emma walked in to a clearing with all of her lacrosse stuff in duffell bag, and her pop up nets under her arms. This is how Emma felt the most comfortable. She'd already strapped on some of her pads and she was so ready. There was no way a pretty boy like Ephraim could beat her at her game. Emma set the bag down and began to set up the nets on the opposite ends of the clearing. She didn't know if they'd need both, but she set them up anyway. Emma sat down cross-legged next to her bag and opened it up. She pulled her pole out, and smiled. Emma stood up, and dumped her lacrosse balls out. She began to scoop them up and whip them into the net as she waited.

Ephraim Marshall Versitylyti

Ephraim wandered the forest in search of the area that Emma and him were using for a lacrosse competition they had scheduled yesterday in the game room. He would beat her, no matter what. He couldn't lose to a girl. Not because of reputation, but pride too. Emma seemed confident in her choice, but he had trained almost all day yesterday after she decided, and he was ready. He got a good night's rest, found his day's old equipment buried in his suitcase, and ate a nice breakfast. Yes, he might be taking this a bit too far, but competition was almost his life.

Emma heard somebody coming her way and instantly hoped that it was Ephraim. She was ready to get this game going and ready to kick his butt. Emma started scooping the balls up and throwing them again. What Ephraim didn't know was Emma's dad was Zelos, the god of rivalry and competition. Competing was in her blood, and she'd perfected the art of winning.

Ephraim Marshall Versitylyti

Ephraim pushed through the bushes and found a clearing where Emma was standing, looking ready as could be. Ephraim did seem worried, though. Emma didn't seem like that sporty girl, but she had that fire. Something about her made Ephraim suspicious. There was something he didn't know that could cost him the win. His pride. He reputation. Everything. At least, to him. His sister, Eirika, just thought that he was being silly.

Emma smiled and waved confidently when she saw Ephraim, and whipped the ball in the net as hard as possible for good measure. She wasn't really that confident though. He looked really prepared. When they were in the game room Emma didn't notice how athletic he looked. Ephraim seemed like a total sports guy. Emma didn't look athletic at all. She looked like a preppy little wimp, but she wasn't.

Ephraim Marshall Versitylyti

Ephraim walked up next to her. "Ready to get totally beaten?" He smirked and took out his dad's lacrosse stick. "I haven't played this in a while, but the memory of me and my dad is still fresh. Let's do this," He got prepared and waited for Emma to cue the start of the lacrosse game.

OOC: Short post, I know. I have to go somewhere, though.

Emma flipped the stick in her hand She wasn't quite sure how Ephraim wanted to play. She shifted her weight, leaning on her right leg, and tilted her head to smile. Emma placed the base of her stick on the ground and smiled. "Well, how should we play? 1-on-1 full scale game? Or a shoot off? or who can block the most shots?" Emma had played all those ways before with people. Suddenly, a thought popped into her head. "Or, we could do best two out of three with all of those."

Ephraim Marshall Versitylyti

"I really don't mind, Emma. Just go with whichever one you feel most comfortable with," Ephraim said. Normally, he would not let anyone choose what kind of game they played, but he wanted to beat Emma at her best. Maybe he wanted to go easy on her. Nah. He didn't do that for anyone. He played his hardest no matter what condition he was in or who he was playing.

Emma smiled. "Best two out of three then." Emma didn't really have a weak spot when it came to lacrosse. She went all out in everything, and it always showed good results. Emma wasn't going to let some pretty boy change that either. Emma scooped up a ball and turned to him. "We can start with the shoot off. Open net. Whoever can make a shot from the farthest back gets the point." Emma smiled confidently.

"Fine. Two out of three is good for me. Ready to get pummeled?" Ephraim asked her, smirking smugly as he got himself ready. His focus was better than usual. Maybe it was because his reputation depended on it. At least, he thought it did. Emma, hopefully, would not go around saying she beat him, making him feel like disgrace to the jocks, etc.

"Alright. You want to go first?" He asked, leaning up against a tree to watch her shoot. It was really a rhetorical question. He would see where she would shoot from, and then he would beat her distance. Easy.

Emma laughed. "I don't mind going first. I'll beat you either way. But I gotta set down the rules. I shoot, if I make it, you shoot from farther back. If you make it," Emma said with a slight laugh and a smile,  "then I shoot again, from farther back. First one to miss, loses." Emma turned away, maybe a bit dramatically, her dark brown hair flipping behind her. She walked out on the field and lined up with the net. Once she was in line with it, Emma turned her head to Ephraim and smiled. Without looking back at the net, she shot the ball, and it went right in the net. Emma turned to face Ephraim and rocked back and forth on her heels. "Your turn."
