frolicking in the forest like bambi {private}

Post by Kendall on 10/19/2014, 3:14 pm

Today, as always, Stella had skipped her cabin's scheduled rotation of activities: she didn't personally feel like making macaroni art with the Iris kids at the arts and crafts cabin. That wasn't really her thing.

Since there was nobody to stop her -- her cabinmates were all inexplicably missing, even her cabin's counselor David, and nobody else could make her go through that idiotic schedule -- she had immediately left the camp and entered the forest, taking a wide circuitous route for no reason other than to exercise and kill a bit of time. She mentally noted, stepping over a fallen tree, that the next thing on her schedule was wrestling with the Hecate cabin -- that too was not her thing. She hated most of the Hecate kids anyway, those pompous assholes, with their incantations and charms and runes.

Snorting to herself, she ducked underneath a branch and checked her watch. It was only about half an hour since breakfast-time, but she was sure nobody missed her at the arts and crafts cabin. Yawning, Stella sat down against a tree and leaned back, staring up at the sky through the small pockets of empty space between the tree branches and their leaves. It was still hot out thanks to Mr. D's weather manipulation, but she was sure that he'd make it chillier soon.

Clouds drifted by. Minutes passed and Stella still stared up at the sky, having zoned out for a bit -- her head hurt, and frankly she didn't want to think right now. She didn't want to admit that she felt lonely: no friends, if they existed, to talk to, no Cirrus (who had wandered to New Jersey for some reason a few days ago, and had not returned), not even her sisters were available. Huh. Were these... emotions?

Drizzt was wandering through the forest, as per usual. Wandering in his dark, black clothes and vantablack, hooded cloak, the demigod child of Makaria was hard to observe in the shadows of the forest. Walking from shadow to shadow, he kept to himself, until he came at last unto a great clearing. The gray skinned demigod looked around, and saw a person there. Hoping they wouldn't freak out at the sight of a red eyed, gray skinned boy in black, he approached slowly, to try and prevent startling them. "hi."

OOC: we can say "assholes" now? wooo

BIC: Gina stomped into the forest, kicking wet slabs of mud out of her way as she did. Walking in absent circles, she wandered into its depths wondering for the hundredth time what lure Camp Half Blood had held to draw her back here after all these years. If she was honest with herself, she mused, she would have to admit it was simply because she had had no idea where to go. Circe's island had been a home to her these past few years, a place where she had felt accepted, even liked and most astonishingly of all, had actually liked a few people in return. Most importantly, the island had been a training ground, an academy of the sort camp half blood could never hope to become, atleast not for magic..not for demigods like her. Leaving the island had been a relief in part, having been accustomed to the life of a gypsy from her early years, Gina could never abide staying in one place for too long. The wrenching sensation in her gut as she bade her goodbyes however, said otherwise. Perhaps that was why she had almost subconciously made her way back to camp, it was.. if not a "home", a starting point. A place where she could chart the pathways for her next adventure.

Speaking of pathways, Gina ground to a halt as she realised she had no idea where she was. While getting lost in the deadly depths of the forest would be alarming to most demigods, Gina felt otherwise. She had always rejected comfort and safety for the lethal excitement of adventure and her years of training and honing her skills under Circe's eye had only served to make her more blasť, confident in her own abilities. Besides, she could never be lost in the forest, not truly. Having rejected the company of her cabin mates for the seclusion of a hidden cave in the forest almost as soon as she had arrived at camp, Gina had always felt more at home among the trees and monsters than within the stone walls of her mom's cabin.

Revolving slowly on the spot, Gina tried to approximate her location in the forest. Midway through however, a flash of gold caught her eye causing her to stand still and then take a few surreptitious steps forward. Disappointingly, the gold wasn't reflected off of a sword's blade in the morning light but off the pale gold hair of a camper. Two campers infact, standing in a clearing apparently talking together..no, see with your eyes, Gina she instructed, forcing herself to look closer and not be blinded by assumptions. The blonde camper was turned slightly away from the hooded one, who appeared to have just arrived. Not talking together, then she thought, uneasily eyeing the blonde camper again. Gina couldn't shake the feeling that there was something familiar about her, though she couldn't imagine what seeing as her minimal interactions with campers in her time here could be counted on her fingertips. As she shifted to get a better view, the memory rushed back to her, a midnight chat in a clearing not far from here.

Seized by a sudden impulsiveness, Gina was tempted to call out but that would be base naivety. Instead she moved clumsily towards the clearing, stepping on twigs and dry leaves and she did before stopping a few feet away. A well meant piece of advice from aeons ago echoing in her head, when uncertain, wait for them to come to you.. And so she did.

[ooc: Wow, so much detail, Asi. Beautiful.]

As Stella stared off into the distance, she heard distantly the sound of a person walking, sensing the winds parting before a mass that had suddenly appeared nearby and was, obviously, breathing. Frowning, the demititan snapped out of her reverie to look at the person who had spoken: a boy with skin that appeared almost gray, wearing a dark cloak. Well, she had to give him points for daring to wear dark clothing in this heat: she was almost sweating in her orange Camp Half Blood t-shirt and jean shorts.

"Hello," she replied cautiously, staring at him. Stella should have expected other people to be wandering around instead of following the schedule rotation, but regardless, she was still a bit surprised to have met somebody else. He looked to be a child of one of the Underworld gods, judging by his skin-color and fondness for dark clothing. (Even if she knew some of those demigods didn't look or dress like this, it was not an unfounded assumption.) "And what do you want?"

However, as soon as she'd opened her mouth, she heard nearby a second set of footsteps nearby. Tensing, Stella turned her head and found herself glancing around. She could sense the breathing -- she could... oh, there it was. She was looking at a pair of shoes, connected to a pair of legs.... Stella shifted slightly to get a better view and looked up: it was a girl who looked very familiar....

Drizzt shrugged. He didn't really feel the heat all that much. It just didn't seem to affect him, for some reason. Nevertheless, he stuck somewhat to the shadows. He always got the feeling he wasn't allowed to belong anywhere but there. "I" he began, then tensed. He sensed a presence. His hand went to something clipped on his belt, but relaxed somewhat when it turned out to be just some girl. Nevertheless, she could be dangerous. He didn't know. He remained casual, but wary. "Greetings," he responded. As usual, his voice came out rather toneless and flat. He couldn't help it. His voice was just that way.

((Very sorry for continual suckishness))
